Vogue's View: Paris Fashion Week Spring 2013

Vogue's View: Paris Fashion Week Spring 2013

After four weeks of shows, we’ve finally reached the end of the spring 2013 season—and it definitely closed out with a bang. Not only did the anticipated ready-to-wear debuts of Raf Simons at Dior and Hedi Slimane at Saint Laurent live up to their expectations, but the overall workmanship and beauty of the collections reaffirmed that Paris is the fashion capital of the world. And now-straight from our photographers -we bring you Vogue’s View, a portfolio of the best pictures from Paris Fashion Week.

London Fashion Week Spring 2013 Street Style

What really makes street style inspiring is the spontaneity. Of course, assembling a look requires artistry, but the best photographs outside of the shows are always about the big picture. Take for example, Phil Oh’s shot of the seen-everywhere Céline bag in tow with a pair of dramatically curved Jason Wu heels. While the combination itself is interesting, the photo really comes alive when you notice that the accessories’ owner is walking over a painted LOOK on the street. Notice how Michelle Reneau’s neon knit is electrified when she sits in front of a colorful mural. Or how the wind catches Hanneli Mustaparta’s hair, forming a shape that’s echoed in her billowing blazer sleeve and the strap on her Jil Sander bag. While hot orange arrows on a motocross-inspired Alexander Wang happen to match a string of construction workers idling behind. There’s so much more to enjoy than the cool clothes on display. Just look.
